New Michelin stars in San Francisco: the June 2026 guide

What changed in June 2026

The June 2026 guide added two newly starred restaurants in San Francisco: Restaurant Naides and Wolfsbane. It promoted Californios to three stars. Le Comptoir at Bar Crenn and O' by Claude Le Tohic lost their stars. The Shota closed and left the guide. Every change, with prices: the MICHELIN Guide California 2026 results.

Before you book

How do you book a Michelin star restaurant in SF?

Online, on whichever app the restaurant uses. OpenTable is the most common, used by Saison, Sons & Daughters and others; Benu is on Tock, 7 Adams on Resy and Quince on SevenRooms. Most hold a credit card against a late cancellation.

When do tables open at SF’s starred restaurants?

Mostly on the 1st of the month before. Quince and Saison release the following month’s tables then, Kiln at noon Pacific time and Sons & Daughters at midnight. Others roll day by day: 7 Adams 28 days ahead at midnight, Mister Jiu’s 30 days ahead at 10am.

What should you wear to a Michelin star restaurant in SF?

Mostly what you like. Quince asks for cocktail attire and Acquerello suggests jackets for men, but neither requires one, and Sons & Daughters says jeans are welcome.

How much should you tip in SF?

Usually nothing extra. Most of SF’s starred restaurants add a service charge of about 20% in place of a tip (22% at Quince), and some add a few per cent more for staff health care, which the city requires employers to fund. Sons & Daughters, for one, says no further gratuity is expected.

Checked 9 October 2026 on the restaurants’ own websites. Rules change, so check with the restaurant when you book.

Method

How the prices are counted

Per person, before service

Every figure is for one guest and excludes sales tax, which varies by city (8.875% in New York City, for example), and tip, which is usually 18–22%. Many restaurants add a set service charge instead of a tip, and some San Francisco restaurants add a small surcharge for staff health care. Supplements such as caviar or truffle courses are left out. Prices shown in other currencies use the day's exchange rate and are approximate.

Where prices come from

Dinner is the main tasting or omakase menu where there is one, and wine is the cheapest pairing for it. We take prices from each restaurant's own website where they're published, otherwise from its booking page (Tock, Resy or OpenTable), recent reviews and guides. À la carte restaurants show a typical main course (“per main”). Lunch is the set or tasting lunch menu where there is one.

Stars and Google rating

The Google reviews score out of 5 and the number of reviews, checked in October 2026. Stars come from the MICHELIN Guide California 2026, announced in June 2026. A green ▲ marks a restaurant that gained a star in the June 2025 or June 2026 guide; a red ▼ marks one that lost a star.
