MICHELIN Guide California 2026: Every New and Lost Star

The MICHELIN Guide California 2026 was revealed on June 24, 2026 at EVE, San Diego. It gave nine restaurants their first stars, promoted Californios and Enclos to three stars, promoted Kato to two stars and dropped 11 restaurants that closed, changed or lost their stars. California now has 10 three-star, 13 two-star and 60 one-star restaurants in the guide.

New three-star restaurants in 2026

In San Francisco, Californios ↗ (Mexican) moved up from two stars to three. Its head chef is Val M. Cantu. Its dinner tasting menu costs $375.

In Sonoma, Enclos ↗ (Contemporary) moved up from two stars to three. Its head chef is Brian Limoges. Its dinner tasting menu costs $325.

New two-star restaurants in 2026

In Los Angeles, Kato ↗ (Asian) moved up from one star to two. Its head chef is Jonathan Yao. Its dinner tasting menu costs $325.

New one-star restaurants in 2026

Nine restaurants won their first MICHELIN star in the MICHELIN Guide California 2026.
